The objective of EGAT is to promote environmental governance, sustainable development, environmental human rights, climate resilience, and responsible natural resource management through education, advocacy, research, technical services, and community empowerment. The organization seeks to strengthen environmental protection, support sustainable urban development, conduct environmental assessments and audits, promote disaster risk reduction, utilize GIS and remote sensing technologies, and enhance public participation in environmental decision-making. EGAT also aims to build partnerships and implement innovative solutions that contribute to healthy ecosystems, resilient communities, and a sustainable future for Tanzania.
